Liverpool have officially secured the signing of French striker Hugo Ekitiké from Eintracht Frankfurt on a six-year contract, marking a major move for both player and club.
The deal is worth €80 million as a fixed fee, with an additional €10 million in achievable performance-based bonuses and €5 million in more difficult add-ons, bringing the total potential package to €95 million.

Ekitiké, 23, completed his medical in the UK and signed a contract that will keep him at Anfield until 2031. He attracted interest from several top clubs, including Newcastle and Manchester United, but Liverpool moved quickly to finalise the transfer.

The French forward impressed last season with 22 goals and 12 assists for Frankfurt, playing a key role in helping the German side qualify for the Champions League. His performances prompted Liverpool to prioritise the deal as part of their summer rebuild.

Head coach Arne Slot views Ekitiké as a dynamic and versatile striker capable of playing across the front line, while primarily operating as a central No. 9. His playing style has drawn comparisons to Alexander Isak, who was also on Liverpool’s radar.

This signing marks Liverpool’s seventh major addition of the summer, joining Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Ármin Pécsi, and Freddie Woodman. The club’s total transfer spending for the window now approaches £300 million, with Ekitiké becoming one of the most expensive players in the club’s history.

He is expected to join Liverpool’s pre-season tour in Hong Kong and Japan, where the team will face AC Milan and Yokohama F. Marinos.
