Luka Modrić has landed in Milan to finalise his transfer to AC Milan, thereby ending his 13‑year tenure at Real Madrid . The 39‑year‑old Croatian midfielder touched down at Malpensa Airport on Monday morning and headed straight to the Ambrosiano Clinic for his medical tests .
Following the medical clearance, Modrić is set to visit Casa Milan to sign his contract and meet his new teammates as well as head coach Massimiliano Allegri, who returns to Milan for his second spell in charge . Allegri, speaking at his unveiling, had earlier described Modrić as “an important and extraordinary player,” confirming his arrival in August .
After completing the official processes, Modrić will return to Croatia for a brief holiday that runs until August 4, before rejoining the squad in Milan for pre‑season preparations . His final match for Real Madrid came during a 4–0 defeat to PSG, with his emotional farewell at the Santiago Bernabéu taking place on May 24 . Over his illustrious career at Real, Modrić amassed 28 major titles, including six UEFA Champions League victories and the 2018 Ballon d’Or, making him the most decorated player in the club’s history .
