Jamal Musiala sustains serious lower-leg injury as PSG defeat Bayern 2–0 in Club World Cup quarter‑final
In a high-stakes FIFA Club World Cup quarter-final on Saturday in Atlanta, Jamal Musiala was stretchered off after suffering a severe lower-leg injury following a collision with Paris Saint‑Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The incident occurred just before halftime, with the score locked 0–0, and left Musiala visibly in agony amid gasps from teammates and Donnarumma’s distraught reaction .
Medical personnel quickly attended to Musiala, who was carried off the pitch on a stretcher. Referee Anthony Taylor opted to end the first half early due to the severity of the injury .

Despite being without Musiala, Bayern pressed for the opener in the second half but could not break down PSG’s defence. In the 78th minute, PSG broke the deadlock through a superb strike by teenager Désiré Doué, capitalizing on a loose pass from Harry Kane . Shortly thereafter, PSG were reduced to ten men after Willian Pacho was sent off, but Bayern could not exploit the numerical advantage .

As the game wore on, Harry Kane had an equalizer disallowed for offside, and Bayern were awarded—and then denied—a late penalty following a VAR review . In stoppage time, PSG extended their lead with a counterattack finished clinically by Ousmane Dembélé, sealing a 2–0 victory .

Despite finishing with nine men after two further red cards for Pacho and Lucas Hernández, PSG secured their spot in the semi-finals, where they will meet the winner of Real Madrid vs. Borussia Dortmund . Bayern, meanwhile, were eliminated from the tournament. The final is slated for July 13 at MetLife Stadium.
