Marcus Rashford, who has made over 400 appearances for the club, reportedly fell out of favour under manager Rúben Amorim, who had publicly criticised his effort levels. He was sent on loan to Aston Villa during the second half of last season, scoring twice in 10 league appearances. Rashford was recently stripped of the number 10 shirt, which has been handed to new signing Matheus Cunha. United value him at around £40 million, but his weekly wages—reportedly around £325,000—have narrowed the field of potential suitors. Barcelona and Bayern Munich have both been linked with interest.
Alejandro Garnacho is also seeking a move after becoming frustrated by a lack of playing time in key matches, including being left on the bench for most of the Europa League final against Tottenham. His current market value is believed to be around £60 million, and clubs such as Napoli and Chelsea have expressed interest.
Antony enjoyed a productive loan spell with Real Betis, where he scored five goals in 17 La Liga appearances. Betis are keen to make the move permanent, but salary negotiations are proving to be a challenge.
Jadon Sancho returned to Old Trafford after a season-long loan at Chelsea. The London club chose not to trigger their purchase clause and reportedly paid a £5 million penalty to send him back. His future remains uncertain, although Juventus have reportedly opened talks.
Tyrell Malacia spent the second half of last season on loan at PSV Eindhoven. With PSV deciding against a permanent transfer, Malacia is now expected to explore other options.
All five players have been told they are not required to report for the start of pre-season training, allowing them time to resolve their futures. However, they still have access to the club’s training and medical facilities, and they will rejoin the squad later in July if transfers are not completed by then.
After finishing 15th in the Premier League and missing out on Champions League qualification, Manchester United are undergoing a significant squad overhaul under Amorim, who is prioritising players committed to his long-term vision.
