Armando Broja Set to Join Burnley After Agreeing Permanent Exit from Chelsea

Armando Broja is set to leave Chelsea and join newly promoted Burnley in a permanent deal. The Albanian international has already given the green light for the transfer, and he has traveled to complete his medicals ahead of signing a long-term contract with the Clarets. The agreement between both clubs has been reached, with the move expected to be finalized within days.

Broja, 23, was once considered one of Chelsea’s most promising academy graduates, having impressed during loan spells at Vitesse and Southampton where he scored a combined total of 20 goals. However, his progress has been severely hindered by injuries over the past two seasons. Following an anterior cruciate ligament injury in December 2022 and persistent issues with his ankle and Achilles, he struggled to maintain form and fitness. Since his return, Broja has only scored three goals across appearances for Chelsea, Fulham, and Everton, contributing to the decision to move him on permanently.

The transfer fee is reportedly in the region of £20 million to £25 million. This aligns with Chelsea’s strategic push to offload players and balance the books in line with Premier League profitability and sustainability rules. The departure of Broja follows a broader exodus of players from Stamford Bridge this summer, as the club looks to reshape its squad under new sporting leadership.

Burnley, managed by Scott Parker, see Broja as a key addition to strengthen their attacking line as they aim to solidify their status in the Premier League. The club has been active in the transfer market, recruiting several experienced players, and views Broja as a long-term investment. From Broja’s perspective, the move offers an opportunity to secure regular playing time and rediscover the form that once made him a top prospect in English football.

With personal terms agreed and the medical examination underway, the official announcement is expected imminently. This move marks the end of Broja’s journey at Chelsea and opens a new chapter at Turf Moor where he hopes to revive his career and fulfill the potential that has been stifled by injury setbacks in recent years.
