Bayern Munich Edge Lyon 2–1 as Luis Díaz Shines on Debut

Bayern Munich opened their pre-season campaign on a high note, edging out Olympique Lyonnais with a 2–1 win at the Allianz Arena in their opening friendly of the 2025–26 season.
The pivotal turnaround came after the break. Luis Díaz, making his debut for Bayern after signing from Liverpool, injected pace and creativity from the bench. Within minutes, he earned a penalty that Michael Olise converted, giving Bayern the lead. Olise struck again shortly afterward with a composed finish to double the advantage.

Despite Bayern's dominance, Lyon remained in the hunt and scored a late goal courtesy of Gomes. Nonetheless, the visitors couldn’t find an equalizer, and Bayern held on for the win.
