Luis Díaz Shines on Bayern Munich Debut in Pre-Season Victory Over Lyon

Luis Díaz officially made his debut for FC Bayern Munich today as the club opened their pre-season campaign with a 2–1 win against Olympique Lyonnais at the Allianz Arena.

Díaz entered the match at half-time, replacing Leon Goretzka, and immediately impacted proceedings. Within two minutes of coming on, he nearly found the net. Luis Díaz joined Bayern from Liverpool on July 30, 2025, signing a contract reportedly running until June 2029. He previously starred at FC Porto and Liverpool, helping the latter secure the 2024–25 Premier League title and earning Joint Top Scorer at the 2021 Copa América for Colombia, where he also helped guide his nation to the 2024 final.

Bayern’s sporting director and management have expressed confidence that Díaz will help reinforce the offense, particularly given ongoing injury concerns for key players like Jamal Musiala, who is undergoing rehabilitation.
