Benjamin Šeško Agrees Personal Terms with Manchester United Until 2030

Manchester United have reportedly reached a total agreement on personal terms with Slovenia’s rising star Benjamin Šeško. Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Šeško has committed to a contract running until June 2030, with the striker expressing a clear preference to join Old Trafford despite interest from Newcastle United and other major clubs.
The Premier League duo have gone head-to-head in the race to sign Šeško. Newcastle tabled a bid worth approximately €80 million plus add-ons, reportedly accepted by RB Leipzig. United initially offered €75 million plus €10 million in performance-related add-ons, and subsequently upgraded the proposal to match Newcastle's overall valuation of around €85 million in total package value.

Despite Newcastle's higher offer and their return to Champions League football, Šeško has signaled a strong personal desire to join Manchester United instead. The final step now rests with negotiations between United and RB Leipzig over the transfer fee.

While Šeško has sealed his personal terms, contractual agreements between Manchester United and RB Leipzig are yet to be finalized. Reports indicate Leipzig is demanding further improvements before ratifying the deal. Industry insiders suggest that an agreement could be imminent, closing before the new season begins.

The acquisition of Šeško is part of a broader attacking overhaul at Old Trafford. The club has already secured Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, with Šeško set to complete a formidable forward line. This reflects manager Ruben Amorim's strategy to dramatically increase goal production following a struggling campaign last season.

Šeško’s arrival may also cast doubt over the future of current striker Rasmus Højlund, who reportedly could be sold for approximately £30 million if an acceptable offer arrives this summer.

Manchester United and RB Leipzig must now finalize the transfer fee structure. A formal agreement will allow the completion of Šeško’s medical, work permit, and official signing. Once confirmed, Šeško will join Cunha and Mbeumo in United’s revamped attacking core for the 2025‑26 season.

This move, if sealed, marks the latest major investment under the stewardship of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, as United continue to pursue a competitive resurgence in the Premier League and Europe.
