⚽ Fabrizio Romano Provides Update on Victor Boniface’s Transfer to AC Milan
Renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shared a significant update regarding Nigerian striker Victor Boniface’s proposed move from Bayer Leverkusen to AC Milan—a deal that now hangs in the balance due to medical concerns.
Boniface, 24, had traveled to Milan for medical evaluations at La Madonnina clinic and Galeazzi Hospital over the weekend. However, the Serie A club has yet to give the green light for the transfer, citing concerns over the striker’s injury history, which includes two cruciate ligament tears and recurring muscle issues.
Romano confirmed that Boniface has returned to Germany while AC Milan deliberates on the results of his medical tests. “After 48 hours in Milano, Boniface will be back in Leverkusen today, waiting for AC Milan’s imminent decision,” Romano reported.
💰 Deal Structure and Potential Collapse
The proposed agreement between Milan and Leverkusen was structured as a loan deal with a €5 million fee and a €24 million purchase option, bringing the total package to approximately €29 million. While all contractual terms had been verbally agreed upon—including a contract running until 2030—the final step hinged on the medical clearance.
With Milan adopting a cautious stance, the transfer is now at risk of collapsing entirely if the club decides not to proceed based on the medical findings.
