Victor Boniface Responds to Critics Following Failed AC Milan Transfer
Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has addressed criticism surrounding his professionalism after his proposed move to AC Milan collapsed due to medical concerns.
The Bayer Leverkusen forward had been on the verge of joining the Serie A giants on a €5 million loan deal with a €24 million option to buy. However, the transfer was called off after multiple medical tests flagged issues related to Boniface’s previous knee injuries.
In the wake of the failed move, Boniface took to social media to respond to detractors who questioned his commitment and focus. In a pointed statement, he wrote:
“Boniface no serious, he dey everywhere. I dey club like Leverkusen and club like Milan want me and I no serious. So if I serious na club for Jupiter I go dey play… Clowns everywhere. If I no serious and I dey this level, make I remain like that.”
His remarks reflect frustration with critics who have mocked his character and suggested that his off-field behavior contributed to the breakdown of the deal. Despite the setback, Boniface remains with Bayer Leverkusen and is expected to continue preparations for the upcoming Bundesliga season.
The 24-year-old has also been named in Nigeria’s provisional squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, signaling his continued importance to the national team setup.
