Inter Milan Opens Serie A Campaign with a Commanding 5–0 Victory
Inter Milan dominated their Serie A opener on 25 August 2025 with a resounding 5–0 triumph over Torino at the San Siro. It was a statement win to kick off the 2025–26 season.
The scoring began in the 18th minute when Alessandro Bastoni connected with a looping header from a corner kick to break the deadlock. In the 36th minute, Marcus Thuram extended the lead after receiving a setup from Petar Sučić. Thuram wasn’t finished—he later added a second goal following a Bastoni cross, solidifying Inter's commanding first-half performance.
Shortly after halftime, Lautaro Martínez capitalized on a defensive error to further punish Torino with a precise finish into the net. To cap off the dominant display, Ange-Yoan Bonny scored calmly after intercepting a poor pass, sealing a five-goal blowout.
This emphatic result marked Inter Milan’s biggest opening-day win since 1961, underscoring both their offensive strength and Torino’s defensive vulnerabilities.
