Tottenham have secured Palhinha on a one-year loan deal from Bayern Munich, which includes a purchase option valued at approximately €30 million (around £26–27 million) to be potentially activated at the end of the season. Spurs will cover Palhinha’s salary for the duration of the loan—previously estimated at around £8.7 million—and will also pay a loan fee of approximately £4.3–4.4 million. The Portuguese midfielder has already passed his medical in Germany, with final formalities between the clubs expected to be completed shortly.
For Bayern Munich, the move allows the club to trim its wage bill and potentially recover part of the investment made when Palhinha joined from Fulham for a reported £46–51 million. In his debut Bundesliga season, the 30-year-old made just 17 appearances amid injury setbacks and fierce competition for midfield spots.
