Liam Delap, the England Under-21 striker recently signed from Ipswich Town for around £30 million, joined the group early and made an immediate impression. His enthusiasm and sharpness on the pitch reflected his determination to adapt quickly to life under head coach Enzo Maresca. Delap reportedly said he was “really impressed” by the high standards set by his new teammates during the session.
João Pedro, who joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal worth around £55–60 million, also featured in the training. The Brazilian forward, known for his versatility in attack, is expected to bring added creativity and depth to Chelsea’s frontline.
Their involvement in training is part of Chelsea’s strategy to integrate new signings early and build squad cohesion. Alongside other new arrivals like Jamie Gittens and Estêvão Willian, Pedro and Delap represent the club’s renewed focus on youthful potential.
Delap is expected to challenge Nicolas Jackson for the central striker position, while João Pedro offers tactical flexibility, capable of operating centrally or out wide depending on Maresca’s setup.
Both players trained alongside key first-team figures including Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernández, and Moisés Caicedo. Their development will continue as Chelsea prepare for upcoming pre-season friendlies, including fixtures against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan.
