Manchester United Agree Personal Terms with Emiliano Martínez and Approach Aston Villa Over Transfer

Manchester United have indeed made a fresh approach for Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez in the final stretch of the transfer window.  

The club is still in active talks with Royal Antwerp for 23‑year‑old Senne Lammens, but with less than 48 hours before the deadline, United want Martínez as a ready alternative if that deal collapses. 

It's been learnt that direct discussions have taken place with both Villa and the player’s representatives, and the Argentina World Cup winner is understood to be open to the move.  

Villa are reportedly seeking around £40 million for the 32‑year‑old, who has four years left on his contract.
