Nollywood Actress Omotola Odunsi, Also Known as Motola the Actor, Has Passed Away

Nollywood is in mourning following the untimely death of Omotola Odunsi, known affectionately as Motola the Actor, whose passing was confirmed on Thursday, July 31, 2025, by fellow actor Akinola “Segbowe” Akano via a heartfelt Instagram tribute.

Segbowe shared screenshots of their final conversation, during which Odunsi reassured him she was feeling better. He expressed shock at the news, saying, “Motola! Strange but I tried checking on you at the wee hours of that morning. You said you were FINE & BACK! This is a rude shock, Omotola! Journey well, sister. God be with your family.”

Veteran actor Odunlade Adekola, under whose tutelage Odunsi trained, also reacted, writing, “Jesus Christ. RIP Omotola.”
