Following his involvement in the Club World Cup with Chelsea, Madueke had been granted an extended break by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta. However, the winger opted to return early to start his adaptation to the new environment and begin personal training sessions to sharpen his form ahead of the season. He has been working closely with his individual coach, Saul Isaksson-Hurst, focusing on finishing techniques and attacking movement, with recent footage showing the 22-year-old confidently dispatching shots past a goalkeeper during one-on-one drills.
Despite facing backlash from sections of the Arsenal fanbase—some of whom voiced concerns over the club’s continued recruitment of Chelsea players—Madueke is determined to prove his worth. His personal coach has publicly backed him to make an immediate impact, praising his explosive pace, direct style, and ability to take on defenders in both one-on-one and two-on-one situations. According to Isaksson-Hurst, Madueke’s qualities could see him rival Arsenal's existing wide players, including Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
While some supporters remain skeptical, Arteta is reportedly confident in Madueke’s potential and views him as one of the most dynamic young wingers in the Premier League. The 2025/26 season will provide the stage for the former PSV Eindhoven star to establish himself at the Emirates.
Madueke is expected to feature in Arsenal’s upcoming pre-season friendlies at the Emirates Stadium, including matches against Villarreal and Athletic Club, as the Gunners prepare for their Premier League opener against Manchester United at Old Trafford on 17 August.
