The group is led by the Brazilian consortium OutField, co-founded by Pedro Oliveira, and features other high-profile partners such as Georgios Frangulis, CEO of health-food brand OakBerry. Together, they aim to support Le Mans FC’s long-term growth through investments in infrastructure, youth development, and brand visibility.
Le Mans FC praised Djokovic for bringing exceptional mental strength and global influence to the club. Massa and Magnussen are expected to help integrate the city’s strong motorsport heritage—highlighted by the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans—into the football club’s identity.
Club president Thierry Gomez stressed that the partnership is more than a financial arrangement. The new investors will be actively involved in building the club’s future, including the creation of a top-tier training centre approved by the French Football Federation.
At 38, Djokovic continues to compete at the highest level in tennis, having reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon last month. While he has not yet retired from the sport, this move signals a growing interest in sports ownership and management.
Le Mans FC, which secured promotion from the Championnat National last season, will kick off their Ligue 2 campaign on August 9 with an away match at Guingamp. The club sees this new chapter—with the support of global sports figures—as a turning point in its journey toward top-flight football and long-term success.
