Dressed in black, the 32‑year‑old Ghana international spoke only to confirm his identity and basic personal details. He was not required to enter a plea.
Judge Paul Goldspring granted Partey conditional bail with strict terms, including avoiding any contact with the complainants and notifying police 24 hours in advance of any international travel or change of permanent address. The case has been referred to the Old Bailey, with a scheduled appearance on 2 September 2025.
Partey has denied all allegations. His lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, stated that he has fully cooperated with police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) throughout the three-year investigation and looks forward to clearing his name in court.
The CPS authorised the charges on 4 July 2025 after reviewing a file of evidence submitted by the Metropolitan Police. The investigation began following a complaint filed in February 2022.
Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy highlighted the police’s commitment to supporting the alleged victims and encouraged others with relevant information to come forward. Jaswant Narwal, Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London North, urged the public to avoid commentary that could prejudice ongoing proceedings.
Partey’s contract with Arsenal expired on 30 June 2025. He is reportedly close to joining Villarreal in Spain.
