The injury occurred in the buildup to Atlético’s opening goal, where Álvarez assisted Pablo Barrios before experiencing discomfort. Despite completing the first half, medical evaluations later confirmed the strain, prompting the club’s medical team to advise against risking him for the high-stakes European tie.
