A Crystal Palace supporter caused a stir after the final whistle yesterday by blocking Liverpool’s team bus following Palace’s dramatic 2-1 victory at Selhurst Park.
The fan deliberately stopped in front of the vehicle, pretending to tie his shoelaces, while home supporters jeered at the visiting players inside. The lighthearted but cheeky act quickly went viral among fans online.
On the pitch, Palace took an early lead in the 9th minute through Ismaïla Sarr, who finished calmly to put the hosts ahead. Liverpool fought hard and thought they had salvaged a point late on when Federico Chiesa struck in the 87th minute to make it 1-1.
However, the Eagles had the last word. Substitute Eddie Nketiah smashed home the winner in stoppage time after a scrappy passage of play in the Liverpool box, sparking wild celebrations among the home crowd and handing Arne Slot’s men their first defeat of the season.
