Dani Carvajal to Miss Four Weeks with Right Leg Injury, Real Madrid Faces Defensive Challenge

Dani Carvajal will be sidelined for approximately four weeks after being diagnosed with an injury to the soleus muscle in his right leg. The Real Madrid captain sustained the injury during the Madrid derby against Atlético Madrid, forcing the club to adjust their defensive plans in his absence.
This setback comes at a challenging time for the team, as Carvajal had only recently returned from a lengthy recovery following an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in October 2024. His absence adds to Real Madrid’s defensive concerns, with fellow right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold also unavailable due to injury.

Manager Xabi Alonso now faces a selection dilemma for the upcoming fixtures, including the highly anticipated El Clásico against Barcelona. In Carvajal’s absence, players such as Fede Valverde and Raúl Asencio are being considered as potential replacements at right-back. Asencio, in particular, brings prior experience in this role and could help fill the void left by the injured duo.

Real Madrid’s next match is a Champions League encounter against Kairat Almaty in Kazakhstan. With both Carvajal and Alexander-Arnold unavailable, Alonso will need to make strategic adjustments to maintain defensive stability and navigate the team through this critical period.
