Adejumo, who holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) and has formal catering training, caught the governor’s attention during the rally organized by labour unions and other groups endorsing his second-term bid. True to his word, Adeleke shared the update on his official X handle, writing:
> “A few days ago, I met Ms. Oluwatosin Adejumo during the rally where organised labour in Osun State, in collaboration with other unions, endorsed the work we are doing and declared their support for my second term.
> Today, I fulfilled my promise by officially presenting her appointment letter as one of our Government House chefs.
> Beyond her employment, I have also offered her a scholarship up to the Master’s level, should she choose to further her education.
> Her story is a powerful reminder that hard work and dedication never go unnoticed. My administration will continue to recognize and uplift excellence wherever we find it.”
The appointment has drawn widespread praise, with many viewing it as a symbol of grassroots empowerment and a reflection of Adeleke’s commitment to recognizing excellence in unexpected places. A video shared by the governor captured the moment he beckoned Adejumo from a bus, engaged her in a brief conversation about her catering skills, and instructed aides to collect her contact details.
This development also coincided with Adeleke’s commissioning of the long-abandoned Osun Farmers’ House, a project originally initiated by a previous administration but left incomplete.
