Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman have officially arrived at the Super Eagles’ camp in Uyo, joining the rest of the squad as preparations intensify ahead of crucial World Cup qualifying fixtures. The Nigerian national team has convened with urgency, as back-to-back must-win matches loom against Rwanda and South Africa. Osimhen, the frontline attacker, and Lookman, the dynamic winger, were among the late arrivals completing the team’s full roster at camp .
The Super Eagles’ training base, situated at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, has welcomed key players steadily, but the presence of Osimhen and Lookman strengthens the squad’s offensive options ahead of the double-header. Lookman—who endured a summer of speculation and contractual wrangling with Atalanta over his future—finally made it to camp and is poised to make a significant impact .

Earlier arrivals included captain William Troost-Ekong, who kicked off pre-camp arrivals with his arrival ahead of other teammates and was joined by others like Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, Samuel Chukwueze, Tolu Arokodare, and Christantus Uche. These arrivals marked the initial phase of squad assembly, culminating in the full complement of 23 players to take on Rwanda and South Africa .

With all personnel now present, head coach Eric Chelle can proceed with comprehensive preparations. The Super Eagles must secure six points to sustain their ambitions of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Their first game is scheduled against Rwanda at home in Uyo on September 6, followed shortly by an away fixture against South Africa on September 9 .
