The Turin side started brightly and came close to taking the lead when Pierre Kalulu’s header struck the upright early in the first half. Despite their dominance in possession, Juventus were punished just before the interval. Kamaldeen Sulemana weaved through the defence and finished clinically in stoppage time to give Atalanta the advantage going into the break.
In the second half, Juventus increased the tempo and eventually found a response. Substitute Juan Cabal made an impact moments after coming on, capitalising on a defensive lapse to level the score in the 78th minute. The equaliser shifted momentum in Juve’s favour, especially after Atalanta captain Marten de Roon was shown a red card shortly after.
Despite the man advantage and sustained late pressure, Juventus were unable to break down Atalanta’s resilient defence. Several half-chances came and went, with the visitors holding firm to protect the point.
The draw leaves Juventus in second place on 11 points, one behind leaders Napoli. Atalanta remain in fifth with nine points after a disciplined display that frustrated the hosts.
