Barcelona Legend Dani Alves Begins New Chapter as Evangelist

Former Brazil and Barcelona full-back Dani Alves has been filmed addressing worshippers at the Elim Evangelical Church in Girona, Spain, delivering a personal testimony about his renewed Christian faith and describing a spiritual transformation following the most difficult period of his life.

Video footage circulating on social media shows Alves speaking passionately into a microphone, urging listeners to have faith and crediting his recovery and purpose to a commitment to God. Reports say he described making a pact with God and portrayed his faith as central to rebuilding his life after the legal and personal turmoil he endured in recent years.

Alves spent time in pretrial detention and was initially convicted in early 2024 in relation to an incident at a Barcelona nightclub. A higher court later overturned that conviction after finding inconsistencies in the evidence, clearing him on appeal earlier in 2025.
