Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa has made a return to the club’s Cobham training ground ahead of the much-anticipated Chelsea Legends vs Liverpool Legends friendly scheduled for this weekend at Stamford Bridge.
Costa, who enjoyed a memorable spell at Chelsea between 2014 and 2017, was spotted training alongside club icons such as John Terry, Petr Čech, Claude Makélélé, Florent Malouda, Gary Cahill, Jody Morris, and Salomon Kalou. The session was held under the guidance of former Blues manager Roberto Di Matteo, who led Chelsea to their historic 2012 UEFA Champions League triumph.
During his three-year stint at Stamford Bridge, Costa scored 59 goals in 120 appearances, winning two Premier League titles (2014/15 and 2016/17) and a League Cup (2015). Renowned for his fiery playing style and clinical finishing, he became a fan favourite and an integral part of José Mourinho and Antonio Conte’s attacking setups.
