Former Real Madrid and Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas is reported to have been the victim of a sophisticated theft at his Madrid residence, with two arrests made in connection to the incident.

According to Spanish authorities, the Policía Nacional detained a female domestic employee who had worked at Casillas’ estate for several years, along with her partner, a security-guard-type worker at the same exclusive residence. The couple is suspected of stealing five high-end designer watches—some reportedly gold models valued individually at more than €50,000—by surreptitiously replacing the originals with quality imitations.
The theft was reported on 16 October and the arrests followed on 21 October after investigators established that the two suspects were planning to leave the country. Two of the stolen timepieces have so far been recovered—one intact and another in parts—while the remaining three are still missing.
Investigators say the employee used her knowledge of the residence and the watch collection’s location to execute the scheme. The burglary has inflicted particular damage to Casillas because, beyond the material loss, it involved a betrayal of trust in his own home.
