Marmoush and Cherki Inspire Manchester City’s Comeback Win Over Swansea in Carabao Cup

Manchester City produced a determined second-half comeback to secure a 3-1 victory over Swansea City in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

Swansea took the lead early through Gonçalo Franco, who curled a superb strike into the top corner in the 12th minute. City gradually grew into the match, and despite prolonged pressure they only broke the deadlock in the 77th minute via Omar Marmoush — marking his first goal of the season. In stoppage time, Rayan Cherki sealed the win for City with a composed finish to make it 3-1.

Manager Pep Guardiola had rotated his squad, making ten changes following their Premier League defeat to Aston Villa. He later said:

“I’m happy for Omar because strikers need goals for their confidence.”

With this win, Manchester City advance to the quarter-final stage of the Carabao Cup.
