Vincent Aboubakar Joins Azerbaijan Club: Cameroonian Star Signs on Free Transfer

Veteran Cameroonian forward Vincent Aboubakar (33) has signed with Azerbaijani Premier League side Neftçi PFK on a free transfer, marking a high-profile move at this stage of his career.

The deal is for one year, with an option for an additional year. Aboubakar is set to wear the number 45 shirt at Neftçi and joins the club after most recently featuring for Hatayspor in Turkey.

Aboubakar brings significant pedigree to Neftçi’s ranks. He has played for respected European clubs including FC Porto in Portugal and Beşiktaş J.K. in Turkey. On the international front, he has been a long-serving member and captain of the Cameroon national football team, scoring 45 goals in 115 appearances.
