2Baba urges calm as marriage drama with Natasha Osawaru spirals out of control — “this is d@ngerous”

Nigerian music icon 2Baba — whose real name is Innocent Idibia — has issued an urgent appeal to the public amid mounting speculation and media frenzy around his relationship with Natasha Osawaru. In a video message posted Wednesday, 2Baba pleaded for calm, warning that the ongoing rumours and online chatter have “gotten out of hand,” and may now pose a danger to Natasha. 

The appeal follows a cryptic “help me” post that briefly appeared on his Instagram story — a post he later disowned, clarifying that he did not author it. In the video, he underscored that although he is “perfectly fine,” the relentless speculation is putting Natasha at risk. He urged fans, family and the media to “cease fire” and allow the matter to be resolved privately. 

2Baba’s message comes after previous statements he made earlier this year: shortly after announcing the end of his marriage to Annie Idibia, he confirmed a romantic relationship with Natasha Osawaru — the Deputy Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly — and told fans that she “had nothing to do” with his separation. He described her as “young, brilliant and amazing,” adding, “Yes, I love her. I want to marry her.” 

But as rumours and strong public reactions mounted, 2Baba — evidently concerned about the effect of the gossip — has now called on everyone to give the couple space, expressing his intention to handle their domestic matters privately and urging supporters not to escalate the controversy.
