Anthony Joshua's last social media post before the fatal car accident was a video of him playing table tennis with his friend, Latz, who tragically died in the crash. The video was shared on Instagram, showing Joshua in a relaxed and playful mood. This was just hours before the accident on December 29, 2025, which claimed the lives of Latz and Sina Ghami, Joshua's strength and conditioning coach.

The accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, and Joshua sustained minor injuries. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) suspected excessive speed and wrongful overtaking as the cause of the crash. Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, confirmed that the boxer's injuries are not life-threatening, but he's devastated by the loss of his friends.

Tributes have poured in for Latz and Sina, with Chris Eubank Jr. saying, "Thank god our heavyweight champ survived that horrible car crash. And pray for the two fallen soldiers Latz & Sina & their families. I knew both… they were genuinely good men. Rest in Peace boys".
