Popular Nigerian comedian DeeOne (Aderombi Adedayo) sparked fresh attention online this weekend after commenting on the arrest of Nollywood actress Doris Ogala. In a post on his Instagram page confirming Ogala’s arrest, DeeOne claimed investigators found substances with her, raising questions about the circumstances that led to her detention and prompting calls for her to clear her name in court.
Reports indicate that Ogala was taken into custody on Saturday, December 20, 2025, live on a Facebook/Instagram livestream when law enforcement officers entered her home. The broadcast abruptly ended after she acknowledged the presence of police in her residence, and she was allegedly escorted out by officers.
The context of the arrest stems from Ogala’s high-profile public feud with Lagos-based cleric Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of the Grace Nation Ministry. Over the past week, Ogala has used social media and live interviews to air serious allegations against the pastor, claiming they were in a long-term romantic relationship, that he misled her, and that she has suffered emotional distress due to how events unfolded, including his recent marriage to another woman.
In the days leading up to her arrest, Ogala had posted now-deleted photos and threatened to release private bedroom videos allegedly connected to her relationship with Pastor Okafor — comments that generated significant online controversy.
Against this backdrop, DeeOne’s commentary resonated widely. In his update confirming the arrest, he wrote, “I tried to warn her; the allegations did not add up. Now she will have to defend her story in court.” He also mentioned that “they found substances with Doris Ogala,” implying that the police may have discovered materials linking her to the claims she has publicly made, although no official statement from the police has confirmed this claim.
DeeOne didn’t stop at reporting the arrest — he also expressed hope that Regina Daniels would show solidarity with Ogala. Regina Daniels, a fellow Nollywood actress, is currently embroiled in her own widely covered personal and legal battle with her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, including allegations related to substance use and rehabilitation.
