Liverpool clinched a 2-1 win over Tottenham today, with Xavi Simons getting sent off in the first half for a dangerous challenge on Virgil van Dijk.
Alexander Isak scored the opener for Liverpool in the 56th minute, and Hugo Ekitike doubled the lead in the 66th minute. Tottenham pulled one back through Richarlison in the 83rd minute, but it wasn't enough to change the outcome.
The win marks back-to-back victories for Liverpool, following their 1-0 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday. Arne Slot's men are now provisionally sixth in the table on 26 points, seven behind leaders Arsenal.
