Thiago Silva has joined Porto on a six-month deal, with an option to extend for another season. The 41-year-old Brazilian defender, who previously played for Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, arrives at Porto after a two-season spell with Fluminense in his native Brazil.
Thiago Silva, regarded as one of the finest centre-backs of his generation, has a total of 32 trophies in his decorated career. He won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021 and has seven French league titles with PSG. The veteran defender has expressed enthusiasm about his new opportunity, stating he's "happy to be back in Europe" and looking forward to helping Porto.

Thiago Silva's move to Porto completes a circle in his career, as he played for Porto's B side in the 2004-05 season. He had previously left Fluminense in December 2025 to pursue a return to European football, aiming to secure a World Cup spot in the summer.
