Mohamed Salah has posted a solitary gym photo — capturing a moment of focus and self-determination — shortly after being left out of Liverpool FC’s squad for their upcoming Champions League match.
The 33-year-old Egyptian forward, who recently voiced sharp criticism of manager Arne Slot following a disappointing benching, opted to remain at the club’s Kirkby training base instead of traveling with the team to Milan. After appearing for training on Monday with the first team, Salah found himself alone in the gym the following morning — an image he subsequently shared on social media.
Earlier, after a 3–3 draw with Leeds United, Salah expressed feeling “thrown under the bus” by the club, lamenting that promises made during the summer were not honored and suggesting a breakdown in his relationship with Slot. That interview sparked controversy and was subsequently followed by his exclusion from the traveling squad.
While the gym photo sends a powerful message about his professionalism and personal resolve, it also raises questions about his immediate future at Liverpool.
