Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, has issued a fresh update on the ongoing DNA dispute involving her late husband’s father, Joseph Aloba, which seeks to confirm the paternity of the singer’s son, Liam.
According to a court filing shared by Wunmi, the latest hearing took place on Wednesday, during which Joseph Aloba requested that the paternity test be conducted in two hospitals of his choosing — both reportedly abroad. The court, however, struck out that request. The judge determined that the DNA test must occur in neutral, independent medical facilities — hospitals in which neither party has any conflict of interest.
Wunmi’s legal team says the ruling places the responsibility for covering the cost of the test on Joseph Aloba, since he had initiated the request for a second DNA examination. She reaffirmed her readiness to comply with the court’s directive and insisted that she has never opposed a legitimate DNA test.
In her statement, Wunmi accused her father-in-law of “shifting the goalpost” — suggesting that he repeatedly changed his conditions to frustrate or delay the process.
