NASCAR legend Greg Biffle, his wife Cristina, and their two kids, Emma and Ryder, were killed in a private plane crash in North Carolina on Thursday, December 18, 2025. The plane, a Cessna 550, crashed at Statesville Regional Airport while attempting to land in foggy weather, killing all seven people on board.
Biffle, 55, was a highly decorated NASCAR champion, winning 19 Cup Series races and being named one of NASCAR's 75 Greatest Drivers in 2023. He was also known for his humanitarian work, particularly in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, where he used his helicopter to rescue victims and provide aid.

The victims also included Dennis Dutton, a retired Delta Airlines pilot, his son Jack Dutton, and Craig Wadsworth. The families of the victims released a joint statement expressing their grief and gratitude for the support they've received.

NASCAR released a statement mourning the loss of Biffle and his family, saying, "Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to Greg's entire family, friends, and all who were touched by his life".
