Alleged ritual k!lling: Why we m8rdered Ogun FRSC officer, daughter ? Victim

Victor Fajemirokun, a 40-year-old Osogbo-based businessman and self-described boyfriend of slain Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, has confessed to masterminding the ritual murder of the 38-year-old senior officer and her 12-year-old daughter, Sewa Lasisi. Fajemirokun lured the victims from Ogun State to Osun under the pretense of spiritual cleansing, only to deliver them to two herbalists wo carried out the killings for a purported money ritual.

The gruesome incident, which has shocked communities in both Ogun and Osun states, came to light following an intensive police investigation. Funmilayo, a senior FRSC officer attached to the Ogun Sector Command, and her daughter were reported missing on November 2, 2025, after departing their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate in Abeokuta. Their mutilated remains were later discovered in separate locations: Funmilayo's dismembered body, missing her head, hands, chest, and other vital parts, was retrieved from the Esa-Odo Dam on November 17, while Sewa's decomposing corpse, also lacking her head, hands, and feet, was found in a nearby bush.

During a press briefing at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo on Wednesday, Fajemirokun was paraded alongside the alleged perpetrators, herbalists Gboyega Daramola, 39, alias "Aberefa," and Sunday James, 38. In a chilling confession, Fajemirokun attributed his actions to consultations with a Muslim cleric, who allegedly informed him that Funmilayo had "used his glory" through spiritual manipulation, dooming him to perpetual failure as long as she lived. "The cleric told me she had spiritually tied my destiny," Fajemirokun told journalists. "He said I needed cleansing to free myself from her grip."

To execute his plan, Fajemirokun deceived his wife, claiming he was heading to Ikoyi in Osun for prayers, while secretly coordinating with Daramola—a contact he had met via TikTok—for the ritual. He then invited Funmilayo and Sewa from Ogun to Ijebu-Jesa in Osun, promising a session for spiritual purification. Upon arrival on November 2, the victims were taken into a forest where James, acting on Daramola's instructions, slit their throats with a knife before dismembering Funmilayo's body. "We took them into the bush and used a knife to slit their throats. After killing them, we butchered the woman," James recounted during interrogation, confirming the act was intended for money rituals.

Daramola, the primary herbalist, denied direct involvement in the slaughter but admitted Fajemirokun was a regular client who brought the pair specifically for the ritual. Police investigations revealed additional accomplices, including individuals named Kehinde and Idowu, who remain at large. Following the crime, Fajemirokun fled to Ghana to evade capture but was apprehended in a joint operation with Interpol and repatriated to Nigeria.

Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Gotan, detailed the breakthrough in the case, crediting intelligence-led operations that led to Daramola's arrest on November 16 and James's capture in Ekiti State on November 20. "The suspects' confessions have been emphatic and corroborated by evidence recovered from the crime scenes," Gotan stated, assuring the public of ongoing efforts to apprehend all involved parties. The remains of both victims have been deposited at the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital morgue pending autopsy.

The FRSC Ogun Sector Commander, CC Leye Adegboyega, expressed profound grief over the loss of a dedicated officer, vowing collaboration with police to ensure justice. As investigations proceed, authorities urge anyone with information on the fugitive accomplices to come forward.
