The Super Eagles of Nigeria have advanced to the semifinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after defeating Algeria 2-0 in the quarterfinals.
Victor Osimhen scored the opening goal in the 47th minute, heading in a cross from Bruno Onyemaechi. Akor Adams doubled Nigeria's lead in the 57th minute, converting a pass from Osimhen.
Nigeria dominated the match, with Algeria struggling to create meaningful chances. The Super Eagles' victory sets up a semifinal clash with hosts Morocco.
This win marks Nigeria's 17th appearance in the AFCON semifinals in the last 20 tournaments they've qualified for.
