British boxer Anthony Joshua discharged from hospital in Nigeria after car accident that killed two friends and team members.
Anthony Joshua, the British-Nigerian boxer, was discharged from the hospital in Nigeria after a car crash that claimed the lives of his two close friends and team members, Lateef Ayodele and Sina Ghami. The accident occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, one of Nigeria's most dangerous roads, when the Lexus SUV Joshua was traveling in collided with a stationary truck.

Joshua, 36, sustained minor injuries and was under observation at Lagoon Hospital in Lagos before being deemed clinically fit to recuperate at home. He was accompanied by his mother to a funeral home in Lagos to pay respects to Ayodele and Ghami, who were being prepared for repatriation.

Ayodele was Joshua's personal trainer, while Ghami was his strength and conditioning coach. Both had worked with Joshua for over a decade, and their deaths have been met with tributes from the boxing community. Joshua had recently defeated YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in Miami and was expected to fight fellow Briton Tyson Fury in 2026.
