Chelsea Football Club has officially appointed Liam Rosenior as their new head coach, replacing Enzo Maresca who departed on New Year's Day. Rosenior, 41, has signed a contract until 2032 and brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously managed Strasbourg, Derby County, and Hull City.
Rosenior's appointment marks a significant moment for Chelsea, as he becomes the fourth full-time head coach appointed since American Todd Boehly's 2022 takeover. The new manager expressed his excitement about joining Chelsea, saying, "I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed Head Coach of Chelsea Football Club. This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies".

Rosenior's tenure at Strasbourg was marked by success, guiding the club to European qualification for the first time in 19 years. He is known for his youth-focused, possession-based philosophy, which aligns with Chelsea's current approach. Rosenior's experience working with young players and his ability to develop talent make him an attractive fit for the club.

The new head coach is expected to bring his assistants, Kalifa Cissé and Justin Walker, to Chelsea, along with head of analysis Ben Warner. Rosenior's first game in charge is likely to be against Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup third round on Saturday, although Calum McFarlane will take charge of the Premier League match against Fulham on Wednesday.
