Veteran Nigerian international Victor Moses has officially signed for FC Kaysar Kyzylorda, a club in the Kazakhstan Premier League, bringing his long and decorated playing career to Central Asia. The move marks a surprising but exciting new chapter for the 35-year-old former Super Eagles winger, who had been without a club for several months following his exit from English League One side Luton Town at the end of the 2024–25 season.
Moses — who rose to prominence in English football and became a household name at clubs like Chelsea, Wigan Athletic, and later spent time in Italy, Turkey, Russia and England — has agreed a one-year contract with FC Kaysar, also known as the Wolves. He is set to wear the number 11 jersey for his new side as they prepare for the 2026 Kazakhstan Premier League season.
The move comes after a period of uncertainty in Moses’s career. After joining Luton Town in September 2024 on a free transfer from Spartak Moscow, he made a number of appearances in the English Football League before being released in May 2025 when the club decided not to renew his contract. That left Moses without a club for over half a year, fuelling speculation about his next destination, including links to Major League Soccer in the United States.
Experience and Leadership for Kaysar
FC Kaysar Kyzylorda, based in the city of Kyzylorda, finished the 2025 Kazakhstan Premier League season in the lower half of the table. The club’s management has publicly stated that bringing in Moses — one of Nigeria’s most experienced exports — represents a significant statement of intent for the upcoming campaign. They’re hopeful that his winning mentality, professionalism, and leadership qualities will strengthen the squad and help them push for higher league standings.
In an official announcement, Kaysar described Moses as a player whose “vast top-level experience” will positively influence the team’s development, especially in mentoring younger players and adding depth to the squad’s attacking options.
A Career of Distinction
Victor Moses’s career has spanned more than 15 years at the top levels of club football. After breaking through at Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic, he made a high-profile move to Chelsea in 2012 where he enjoyed some of his greatest successes. Under various managers at Stamford Bridge, Moses became a key contributor in multiple trophy-winning campaigns, most notably the 2016–17 English Premier League title under Antonio Conte.
Beyond his club achievements, Moses is a winner with the Super Eagles of Nigeria, having played a key role in Nigeria’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations triumph. His international career brought him 38 caps and multiple memorable performances in continental tournaments.
Looking Ahead
At FC Kaysar, Moses now faces a new challenge in a league that remains relatively under the global radar. For a player who has competed in some of Europe’s most competitive environments, this move might appear unconventional. But for Moses, it’s an opportunity to keep playing football at a competitive level, share his experience, and help elevate his new club’s ambitions.
As the Kazakhstan Premier League resumes, fans will be watching closely to see how this seasoned campaigner adapts to a new culture, style of play, and team dynamic — and whether his presence can help transform Kaysar’s fortunes.
