Manchester United continued their resurgence in the 2025-26 English Premier League on Saturday, 7 February 2026, with a 2-0 home victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
In front of passionate fans at Old Trafford, United looked composed and focused from the opening whistle. Tottenham’s captain, Cristian Romero, was sent off in the 29th minute after a reckless challenge on Casemiro, reducing Spurs to ten men and providing United with a tactical and psychological advantage. United capitalised on this opportunity.
The breakthrough came in the 38th minute, when Bryan Mbeumo finished smartly from close range following a well-worked corner routine. Mbeumo’s goal put United ahead going into halftime and energized the home crowd.
In the 81st minute, United doubled their lead courtesy of Bruno Fernandes, who calmly finished after cutting inside from the right flank. Fernandes’ goal sealed the victory and ensured all three points remained at Old Trafford.
