Following the Blues loss to Burnley in the Premier League opening game, Antonio Conte has stated that Gary Cahill red card was the turning point of the game.
The captain was sent off after 14th minutes and Chelsea went on to concede three goals from a brace by Sam Vokes and Ward. While David Luiz and Alvaro Morata reduced the deficit before Cesc Fabregas was sent off.
On Cahill's red card, he said it was key. 'We lost our composure after this red card and we have to improve a lot in this aspect.'
He also said his players showed great commitment, will and desire in the 2nd half and he is proud of that.
On the performance of the team, he said, he saw 'two faces' in his side today, one negative before half-time and one positive after it.
On Boga early substitution Conte says it was a pity to have to take Boga off so early. 'For sure in the future he could have another chance.'
The Italian talked on the referee perform, says he prefers not to comment on the referee's performance.
On what he told his players at half-time, he said he told the players at half-time it wasn't right the way they lost their composure after the red card.
On Alvaro Morata performance, he said: 'Alvaro has good space to improve himself. He is working very well, very hard to find good fitness and adapt to our style.
He added: 'He played a really good game in his 30 minutes, scored a goal and this is good news for us.'
