Raphael Varane, who has long been linked with a move to Manchester United, has signed a new deal at Real Madrid.
The centre-back has become an integral part of the side after joining from French outfit Lens in 2011.
Last season he was a regular in the side that completed a Champions League and La Liga double.
It was Jose Mourinho who gave him his debut for Real Madrid and that relationship has fuelled rumours of a possible move to Old Trafford for the 24-year-old.
But for now he will remain a Real Madrid player having committed his future to the club until the summer of 2022.
Varane becomes the latest of a slew of players to commit their future to the Champions League holders. Marcelo, Isco, Dani Carvajal, Karim Benzema and Marcos Llorent has all signed new deals in recent weeks.
