Glen Johnson announces retirement
Former Chelsea and Liverpool defender, Glen Johnson has announced his retirement from football.

The 34-year old former England international has been without a club since he was released by Stoke City at the end of last season.

Johnson came through the youth ranks at West Ham, with 15 Premier League appearances to his name before joining Chelsea as Abramovich’s first signing, where he won the Premier League and League Cup during his four-year spell at Stamford Bridge.

He later played for Portsmouth, Liverpool and Stoke City, scoring 15 goals in 358 Premier League appearances.
