ARSENAL fans may be upset with former goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny after he sent a message to future team-mate Aaron Ramsey.

Ramsey confirmed his long-awaited move to Juventus today, agreeing a four-year deal which will come into place over the summer.

The Gunners revealed they would not be offering the midfielder a new contract last year, leading to a number of European outfits expressing their interest in a free transfer.

But Juventus won the race - and former Arsenal star Szczesny may have had a hand in the move.

Posting on Instagram tonight, he sent a message to Ramsey, writing: "Welcome to Juve family. Get yourself ready for hard work. The next few years is all about winning! PS. What's my commission."

Szczesny left Arsenal after eight years at the club back in 2017 and is now Juventus' regular No 1.

Ramsey sent a message of his own to Arsenal fans this evening.

“As you may have already heard, I have agreed a pre-contract with Juventus Football Club," he said on Instagram.

“I wanted to issue a personal statement for all the Arsenal fans who have been extremely loyal and supportive.

“You welcomed me as a teenager and have been there for me through all the highs and lows I’ve encountered during my time at the club.

“It is with a heavy heart that I leave after 11 incredible years in North London. Thank you.

“I will continue to give the team 100 per cent and hope to finish the season strongly, before heading on to my next chapter in Turin.

“Kind regards, Aaron.”

And Juventus have released a formal statement, confirming the player's switch in the summer.

"Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that a contract of employment with the player, Aaron James Ramsey, effective as of 1st July 2019 and expiring on 30 June 2023, has been signed," it reads.

"As a result of the registration of the player, Juventus will incur additional costs of €3.7 million, to be paid within 10th July 2019."
