Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a special approach to Callum Hudson-Odoi after Manchester United’s win over Chelsea in the FA Cup on Monday evening.
First-half goals from Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba sealed victory for United at Stamford Bridge, while Solskjaer’s side will now play Wolves in the FA Cup quarter-final.
Hudson-Odoi, meanwhile, was left on the bench by Sarri as Chelsea suffered their ninth defeat since the Italian took charge last summer.
The 18-year-old has played just 19 minutes since the January transfer window closed having attempted to force through a move to Bayern Munich.
Chelsea’s hierarchy are desperate for Hudson-Odoi to sign a new contract as he will have just a year remaining on his deal this summer.

Solskjaer then made a beeline for Hudson-Odoi before turning away from Chelsea’s bench
But Hudson-Odoi is reportedly intent on progressing his career away from Stamford Bridge and will once again seek a move away at the end of the season.
United have not been linked with a move for Hudson-Odoi but there was an interesting moment between the Chelsea winger and Solskjaer after the final whistle on Monday evening.
Solskjaer immediately turned to shake Sarri’s hand after the final whistle and the two quickly embraced in front of the tunnel.
But instead of turning towards the pitch to congratulate his players, Solskjaer moved towards Chelsea’s bench and shook hands with Hudson-Odoi before having a quick word with him.
Solskjaer, who has now won 11 of his 13 games in charge at United, then walked on the Stamford Bridge pitch to praise his players.
