David Luiz makes final decision on his Chelsea future

Chelsea defender David Luiz has revealed he has opened talks with the club on a contract extension. Since the Brazilian returned to Chelsea from Paris Saint Germain, he has been outstanding and he is keen to extend his stay. With Luiz ageing and soon turning 32, a number of Chelsea fans appears to reckon it might be time to inject in new blood.

However, with Chelsea banned from making any signings by FIFA, the club might consider handing him a new contract as the plan of squad overhaul postponed.“We are talking with the club," Luiz told the Evening Standard.

“Everybody knows I love this club, I feel comfortable here and am happy here. I am doing my job very well so I think a lot is going to happen. I have the job best job in the world so I have to be motivated every single day. I love football, if I didn’t love football I would not be playing anymore,” he added.
