Minister of Interior and former governor of Osun State, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, on Friday, paid a familiarization visit to several agencies under the Ministry
Speaking, the Minister said he was aware of the challenges facing the Fire Service, vowing to reposition the agency for optimum delivery to meet its responsibility.
“We are aware of the challenges facing the Fire Service, and we will ensure they receive adequate support to offer effective and optimum service to Nigerians bearing in mind, the SET (Security, Economic rejuvenation and Transparency) objectives of President Muhammadu Buhari”, he said.
Earlier, the Minister was at the headquarters of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), where he was received by the Commandant-General, Abdullahi Gana Muhammad.
He then proceeded to the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), where he was received by the Controller-General, Muhammad Babandede.
Aregbesola was conducted round the headquarters and also inspected some security facilities, where he pledged to change the narratives of internal security in the country.
